Nokia will soon be launching its Nokia Messaging service, its own push email services in December this year after it gets approval from DoT.
This will give a tough competition to Blackberry as millions of Nokia handset owners in the country a functionality falling in zone of Blackberry.
“We plan to launch the service by the year-end. We are in advance stages of discussion with different operators, whereby consumers will get the service through an operator plan”, says Nokia’s Director Marketing in India.
The service will be capable of collecting messages from up to 10 email accounts. The supported email providers include Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Hotmail, Nokia’s own Ovi mail, or custom IMAP/POP servers.
the service will be launched in India in the month of December this year, and will eventually be brought to S40 also.
