New Scorpio launched by Mahindra

Mahindra has launched the new version or its Scorpio car. Scorpio now comes storming in with the great open built into it. Fill its grand deck with your sense of adventure. A bike to ride up the mountains or a board to surf the next mighty wave. You choose. Turn on the ignition. And head out into the vast open. Waiting to be loaded with whatever pumps your adrenaline. Neither does it want to waste a moment and nor do you.

There’s nothing much to add as regards the exteriors. Although very little has changed from the earlier 2.6 CRDe that may not be a bad thing after all. For the Scorpio still maintains its considerable road presence with its imposing size, hungry stance and toothy grille. Of course, the rear is still relatively boxy and compressed, looking like having come off a losing argument with a heavy truck.

All new models of Scorpio will be powered by the new m_Hawk engine which is currently present only in the VLX model of Mahindra Scorpio. The car sports a more muscular look with the new front grille with a central silver tooth. The engine is the USP of this vehicle, and it is quite an engine. This 2.2L common-rail power plant has quite a bit common with the 2.2L DICOR engine powering the latest Tata Safari, and not without reason.

Now, Mahindra joins a handful of other Indian companies which have designed and produced world class vehicles on their own. It’s the car that was built around the customer. The company boasts to go to the customers before it went to the design block. To create a car that takes ownership experience to a new high. said in the press release.
The new model will be available in new colours and will be available for delivery from March 10 in the Indian market.

It has won 3 ‘Car of the year’ awards (BBC World’s Wheels, CNBC Autocar, BS Motoring) in the year of its launch. It has edged out most SUVs in the NFO customer satisfaction survey and is currently the largest selling SUV in the country. To add to all this, in March 2006, the all new Scorpio was launched with 43 new features.
