The first European car show of the year, held between March 5 and March 15 at Geneva, is expected to attract 7-lakh visitors. The Motor Show will present over 1,000 brands with more than 85 world and European firsts in the saloon category alone. The auto show opened against a background of rescues for US manufacturers General Motors and Chrysler; state aid for manufacturers in France; and questions over the future of GM units Opel and Saab in Europe. We are presenting here the hot cars of the auto show. The show is expected to boost the situation of world auto industry.

Fiat 500C : Fiat 500C retains its roofline and arching C-pillar, which should keep its structural rigidity intact while keeping blind spots at bay. The power-operated cloth-top will reported come in three colors – ivory, red and black – and a new spoiler, incorporated into the retractable roof, keeps the third brake light visible whether to the top is up or down. Expect sales to begin later this year in Europe, with U.S. distribution likely in 2010.

Lancia Delta: Lancia Delta Executive has received an official power boost! More exactly a new 1.7-liter turbocharged engine with direct injection capable to deliver an impressive 200 hp. Although the title says 1.8 Turbo engine it is not a mistake: the engine has “only” 1.7-liter and 1742 cc and produces as we said 200 hp and 320 m of torque at just 200 rpm.

Alfa Romeo’s Mito GTA concept car: In line with the famous GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerito) signature, (Alleggerito means reduced weight in Italian), the Alfa MiTo GTA Concept prioritises weight reduction, and the achievement of an optimum power-to-weight ratio. Under the bonnet it has an exciting new petrol engine, very much in keeping with the pre-requisites of downsizing, environmental awareness, and the offer of high power and efficiency in return for low weight and optimised packaging, powers the new GTA Concept.

The concept Car Nissan Qazana: To ensure optimum driving economy and minimum CO2 emissions, Kumho has used a number of cutting edge design tools. The tyre compound uses nano materials to ensure ultra low rolling resistance without any sacrifice in wet grip or wear.

The Ferrari F430 Spider: The F430 range represents Ferrari’s entry-level offering, following in the footsteps of the popular Ferrari 360, which was also offered in convertible form. The F430 Spider’s powerful V8 provides an impressive 483 hp at 8500 rpm. Peak torque is 343 pound-feet at 5200 rpm, 80 percent of which is available below 3500 rpm.

New Rinspeed iChange: The energy for the electric motor comes from lithium-ion batteries that are available in two different stack configurations for short- and long-distance driving. The electric motor of the „iChange“ produces 150kW, capable of propelling the car to a top speed of 220 km/h. The sprint from rest to 100 km/h takes just slightly over four seconds.

Subaru Legacy concept car: Acknowledged, it’s just a show car, and Subaru has gone on record as stating that the model was developed to showcase the Legacy’s sporting capabilities and features, but the thought of a really frugal family sedan is more appealing. The Legacy was introduced globally in 1989, produced in Japan and Lafayette, Indiana and since that date until November 2008 the total global production has exceeded 3.6 million vehicles making it Subaru’s core model.

The New Porsche Cayenne Diesel: The new 911 GT3 is once again more powerful, faster, crisper and more dynamic than its predecessor, improving above all in its two core features performance and driving dynamics. Maximum output of the proven normal-aspiration six-cylinder is now 435 bhp (320 kW), up 20 bhp over the former model. The new GT3 now accelerating to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and achieving a top speed of 312 km/h or 193 mph.
