Ford B517: a new small car to be announced in India

It is highly expected that today, with Alan Roger Mulally, Ford’s president and chief executive, Ford Motor Co will announce its brand new small car for India.

Till now, there is no detailed wording on this however. According to Wheels Unplugged, Ford B517 is the name of the new car which will be seen in markets in March 2010.

In order to be able to meet up the Indian govt.’s meaning of a small car, it will have 1.2 litre and 1.5 litre engine capacity respectively for petrol and diesel.

The Indian content of the car will form its 85%. It has also come to be known that Ford is in talks with Tata Steel Co. for cheaper supply of steel.

This is the latest plan by Ford, wherein, it wants to incorporate car designs from all over the globe and come out with medium size cars so that the brand can increase its productivity as well as profits.
