The camera work with a list of modes like Scene Detection, Smart Auto Mode, Motion Detection, Face Detection, Face Self-Timer, Auto Red-Eye Correction, Continuous Shooting AF and Intelligent Contrast Correction technology.

Canon SX20 a 12.1 Megapixels camera is mainly designed with a main objective of wildlife photography or sports but the camera also offers its best with all sorts of situations.

Both the cameras seem to made for entirely different DSLR requirements. While the D3000 has been designed for a layman and is pretty easy to use, the D300 on the other hand is manufactures for a professional photographer.

In the D3000, there is a ‘Guide Mode’ which enables starters to get great shots in all conditions. Further adding to the flavor are the 10.2 mega pixel sensor and the 11 point autofocus system. To use the basic retouchings on the image without needing a computer, you can also edit image right on the camera itself. The price of D3000 is 30,450.

The high end D300 has a 12.3 mega pixel sensor and 51 point autofocus. With this camera, you can also shoot video in High Definition at up to 7fps. Another prime feature of this camera is its dual storage capabilities, both in CF and SD memory cards. This DSLR is priced at Rs.1,09,950.

Both these will be available in stores from today onwards.

Available for purchase in markets now, it comes in two colors, black and steel grey. The camera carries a price tag of £4,850.

On the other hand, there is Leica X1, the more affordable one among the two new models launched. The X1 carries a 12.2 mega pixel sensor, along with a Leica ELMARIT 1:2.8/24mm lens. This camera allows users to control the aperture and shutter speed manually. Boasting of an LCD screen of 2.7 inches, this cam possesses an ISO range of 100-3200.

The X1 is not out in stores yet and still has to get its price confirmed.

There is however, no announcement regarding this new DSLR by Canon by far.

Detailed specifications are still under covers. All that is known till now is that the D7 will possess a 18-megapixel sensor and dual DIGIC 4 processors. It will be able to shoot at eight frames per second. It will be equipped with ISO settings ranging from 100 to 6400.

Also on board will be a three-inch LCD screen with a 920,000 dot resolution. To shoot high definition videos, this camera will also have same capabilities as the 5D.

Pentax X70 camera comes with a high-magnification optical 24-times zoom lens with a wide-angle to super-telephoto coverage, and sporting a highly portable, compact, lightweight body. The camera has Intelligent Zoom function, the X70’s zoom range can be extended to approximately 150 times without compromising the optical performance of the zoom lens.

Not only this, the X70 incorporates image-sensor-shift-type Shake Reduction system to assure sharply focused, blur-free images even under demanding photographic conditions prone to camera shake.

The S10 and P10 both feature a 4x Digital Zoom and a clear 2.5” LCD flip screen for instant video playback to review recorded footage. An SDHC card reader allows expandable flash memory of up to 32GB – providing up to 8 hours of 1080p HD footage. Adding to the feature set is a CMOS sensor, allowing users to shoot detailed still images, using advanced interpolation techniques, at a resolution of 5MP.

Both the S10 and P10 feature an upright ‘pistol grip’ design, making them perfect for shooting HD video on the go. Despite their ultra-compact dimensions, the pocket-sized cameras still boast a range of premium features, including advanced 1080p HD video recording, at an extremely competitive price point. At only 18mm thick, the S10 is the slimmest entry in the Camileo range, with dimensions no bigger than a deck of playing cards.

Technology improvements across the 1080p Camileo range include Toshiba’s new ‘Night Mode’ feature, which enhances still and moving-image quality in low-light conditions. In addition to impressive specifications on the inside, the S10 and P10 sport an attractive Midnight Blue gloss finish. The company has not given any detail for the availability and price of the product.

These products offer extremely long recording times with hard drive capacity of 240GB, 120GB, 120GB and 80GB, respectively. In addition to a built-in hard drive, the models can also record content to optional Memory Stick PRO Duo media.

Not only this, Sony’s new 16GB PRO-HG Duo HX Memory Stick media (model MS-HX16G) offers extremely quick data transfer rates with the ability to transfer approximately one hour of high definition video from the camcorder to the PC in about six minutes.

The HDR-XR520V, HDR-XR500V, HDR-XR200V and HDR-XR100 camcorder models preserve content in high resolution with 1920×1080 high-definition video recording and up to 12-megapixel still image capture. The flagship model includes a 240GB hard drive that holds up to 101 hours of HD video (LP mode), embedded GPS, a back-illuminated Exmor R™ CMOS sensor, and improved optical image stabilization.

According to a press release of the company the HDR-XR520V and HDR-XR500V models are the first camcorders to use a back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. Because the wire circuitry is placed behind the sensor’s photo detectors, the camcorders provide stunning low light performance with approximately twice the sensitivity compared to Sony’s existing front-illuminated CMOS sensor at F2.0. This results in brilliant image clarity and reduced grain.

These two camcorders feature a Sony G lens that incorporates advanced optics and low-dispersion aspheric glass elements for accurate color production and sharp, detailed images. A six-blade iris produces circular “bokeh” defocus effects for creative shooting possibilities.

A high-speed BIONZ imaging processor handles massive amounts of high resolution data from the Exmor R CMOS sensor for quick response and extraordinary picture quality.

The models also have an improved Optical Steady Shot feature with Active Mode, which allows a moveable lens element to shift with a greater range of motion during camera shake. This results in dramatically smoother video footage and photos.

The feature also highlights your current map location and automatically adjusts the camcorder clock to the proper time zone. All new models feature Smile Shutter technology, which automatically detects faces and takes photos as your subject smiles, even while shooting HD video.

In addition to Face Detection technology, the camcorders are packed with powerful features including Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound recording, a built-in zoom microphone and up to 3.2-inch wide (measured diagonally) touch-panel LCD screens.

Developed for viewing special moments on your television with family and friends, the Highlight Playback mode on the HDR-XR520V, HDR-XR500V and HDR-XR200V models personalize your video footage by generating a video slideshow with theme transitions and background music. You can also add your own MP3 music files using the included software. All models ship with the latest version of Picture Motion Browser software to easily view, organize, and upload images to many major video and photo sharing Web sites.

The HDR-XR520V, HDR-XR500V, HDR-XR200V and HDR-XR100 will begin shipping in March for about $1500, $1300, $1000 and $750, respectively. The DCR-SR87, DCR-SR67 and DCR-SR47 will begin shipping in February for about $500, $450 and $400, respectively.
